This is a fully load tested model MEP-1040 military diesel generator that is rated for 10,000 watts, but can surge to and sustain higher loads; I loaded this generator to over 12Kw during testing. This is a clean power state of the art and very capable generator for those who require continuous run power generation while working at sites with no power, running your cottage, or using as a back-up power source for maintaining the essentials at your home or business during a power outage. This generator is the newest series for the military. This generator is powered by a Yanmar model 3TNV84T 3-cylinder diesel motor, has an Onan generator head, has 3,350 hours, is switchable between 1 and 3 phase, and has a built-in cold weather starting aid. The hard work required to make this generator as reliable as possible is done. I had the old oil tested by US Lubricants (report available) with the following results: “Wear metal and contaminant levels within normal ranges”.I replaced the motor oil with fully synthetic diesel rated 5W40 motor oil and replaced the motor oil filter. I replaced both the primary and secondary fuel filters. And I correctly load tested this generator utilizing professional 1 phase and 3 phase load banks. You’ll need to supply a pair of Group 51R 12 volt automotive batteries; I’ve simply learned that customers have their own battery preferences. You’ll be hard pressed to find these military grade generators as thoroughly maintained and prepared for service as this one. When you need a generator is not the time to buy a generator.
