Do you want a quality wood floor that is unique, attractive, and earth friendly?
Our Wood Flooring is made from multiple wood species reclaimed from the deconstruction of unwanted barns, houses and other buildings. It is heat treated (kiln dried), precision milled with tongue and groove plus relief grooves on the back, and is installed just like more traditional wood flooring, but it is stunning and distinctive!
Visit our "Show Home & Shoppe" where we have some of these flooring types installed in rooms throughout the house. It's a great way to start the conversation of which you like better, what finishes will result in what look, etc.
* Skip Planed - This is rough sawn vintage wood we've milled with planer knives set to just skim the surface, so some areas of the wood's rich patina are exposed while patches of the original aged surface markings remain. You'll see nail holes, and other character here, as well as some variation of colors and grains of the woods.
* Center Cut - We resaw barn beams, turning the resulting planks into unique flooring like nothing you can find in a big box store! With all of the original surface removed, this is a smoother floor than skip planed and a bit more like conventional wood flooring, but you'll see nail holes, knots, evidence of former insect activity and other types of character, along with the unique grain patterns and rich aged patina of the various types of vintage wood we use. May include white oak, walnut, red oak, elm, maple, ash, fir, and others. (Note: we can make some adjustments to the species mix on request.)
* Rustic Pine Plank - This is a center-cut flooring made from resawn pine beams.
* "Natural" Walnut - This wood comes from a nearby mill. It may not have met the strict parameters of an order they were filling but it's just right for making flooring. Natural walnut will exhibit colors from cream to dark brown, sometimes in the same beautiful board!
Flooring is 3/4" thick, and mixed width. Standard widths are 2 1/4", 3", 4", and 5". Lengths range from about 8" to 6 feet. Mixing widths and lengths of these varied species breaks from the monotony of a more traditional floor.
These photos were sent to us by our customers, representing the range of possible results from these types of flooring. Bear in mind, changes in lighting, finishes used, and surrounding environment can affect the on-screen appearance of these floors. Actual in-person results may differ from the photos - and remember, every batch is unique.
