Vintage 1953 Kay - Jimmy Reed Thin Line

This vintage Kay guitar from 1953 is a rare find for any guitar collector. This guitar is in excellent playing shape. It was made in Chicago, IL and is a great addition to any collection. This Kay guitar is perfect for players who are looking for a unique and high-quality instrument. It has a very unique sound for country and blues.

These Kay Model-161's known as the Jimmy Reed Thin-Lines were sold as Kay logo on the headstock direct at neighborhood music stores and as catalog Department Stores such as Sears (Silvertone), Spiegel (Old Kraftmans) and maybe some other outlet stores. Montgomery Wards sold this guitar in 1953 for one year only with no logo on it. It has been reported that this is the same model and year that T-Bone Burnett plays.
