🐍🌟 Meet Lou Diamond Phillips the Egyptian Diadem Rat Snake - Seeking a Forever Home! 🌟🐍

Hello everyone! I’m Lou Diamond Phillips, an Egyptian Diadem Rat Snake with a lot of personality. πŸ’– I came to J&R Aquatic Animal Rescue on 5/7/24 from a distributor because I have a bad eye. Despite this, I'm a charming and resilient snake looking for a loving new home where I can be appreciated for who I am.

Care Tips for Egyptian Diadem Rat Snakes:

🏠 Habitat: Provide me with a spacious tank, at least 40 gallons, to accommodate my active nature. Ensure the enclosure has a secure lid to prevent escapes. Include branches, rocks, and hides to create a stimulating environment with plenty of opportunities for climbing and exploring.

🌑️ Temperature and Humidity: Maintain a temperature gradient of 75-85°F with a basking spot around 90°F. Nighttime temperatures can drop to 70-75°F. Humidity levels should be kept moderate, around 40-60%. Provide a humid hide to help with shedding.

🌞 Lighting: While some say that Egyptian Diadem Rat Snakes don't require UVB lighting, recent studies show that providing a low-intensity UVB light can benefit overall health. Ensure the enclosure has a natural light cycle with 12 hours of light and 12 hours of darkness.

🍽️ Diet: I like to eat pre-killed mice. Offer appropriately sized mice 1-2 times a week. Ensure the prey items are no larger than the widest part of my body. Fresh water should always be available in a shallow dish.

πŸ–οΈ Handling and Socialization: Handle me gently and regularly to maintain my tame nature. Support my body fully and avoid sudden movements to prevent stress. With time and patience, I can be a calm and rewarding pet.

🧼 Cleanliness: Clean my enclosure regularly, removing waste and uneaten food. Perform a thorough cleaning and substrate replacement every few months to maintain a healthy environment.

🐾 Enrichment: Enrich my environment with plenty of hiding spots, climbing structures, and naturalistic decor. Providing a varied and stimulating environment will help keep me happy and healthy.

Let's find Lou Diamond Phillips the perfect forever home where he'll be cherished and well-cared for! πŸŒŸπŸ’™ #AdoptDontShop #RescueSnake #EgyptianDiademRatSnakeLove
