Highly sought after and even harder to find 1965 Ford Mustang Fastback with no rust to repair or panels to replace! This is an original ‘65 Fastback, not a coupe conversion. You cannot purchase a new ‘65 Dynacorn Body “complete & shipped” for my sale price and it will never be an original Ford VIN fastback!
This one is ready for your dream build with a tremendous amount of professional work already done. All metal and body panel fitment and alignment is completed! This fastback is currently protected in epoxy primer. Doors, hood, fenders, deck lid all fit as they should. It is currently dusty from being in storage but all metal is in fantastic condition. There is nothing hidden as car had been stripped with all interior removed. Unlike most “classic projects” or vintage mustangs, there is ZERO metal to replace or repair. All of the work done on this car to get it to its current state was done by a classic car restoration shop in Texas. Professional workmanship shows! It was in dry garage storage in Texas for many, many years before I purchased it with a plan to take it to the next level. I have another 1965 Shelby GT 350 restoration underway and my plans have changed for this fastback. I've decided to let this one go to the next lucky owner as opposed to having it remain in storage even longer.
It is a rolling project and is currently secured on my auto transport trailer in storage (pictures are somewhat limited as a result) with possible delivery of this fastback within a reasonable distance. This is negotiable, but the trailer is not for sale. This 1965 Fastback currently has a rebuilt 8” rear axle installed along with new rear leaf springs but has no powertrain or front suspension installed, as prior owner had planned to go with modern, upgraded components up front. That work was not done. The front rolls on a caster dolly used for transport. At this point, no frame/suspension/engine mount/steering modifications have been made. It can be kept in all original condition, if so desired, or as was planned, you can take it up a notch in handling and performance! It is an original “T” code fastback with factory Vin stamping. I have a complete 302 V8 motor currently on an engine stand for her included with sale.
Once again, this is a perfect opportunity to complete your own original '65 Mustang Fastback, or a GT 350 clone, or even a full blown resto-mod. With a super solid body in epoxy primer, it is ready for the next step. There is ZERO rust on this car...NO cancer to address anywhere! Rockers, rear/front frame rails, doors, roof, fenders, quarters, floors, front/rear valance, ALL are in fantastic condition with professionally fit body panels aligned with proper gaps/spacing.
I have owned/restored 1965-1968 Mustang Fastbacks over the years and I purchased this one because of the amazing overall condition the body was in to start with!
With the sale, I will be including many boxes/totes full of original parts including two bucket seats and a complete original interior with all of the hard to find rear fold down seat components and rear area interior trim panels which are unique to 65-66 fastbacks, instrument cluster(s), rear vent assemblies, dash parts, door trim, fastback door glass and vent assemblies, original rear glass, misc. wiring and engine bay parts, steering column, etc.***
***Note: All listed parts will be included with sale; however, this is not a complete list of all 1964, 1965, & 1966 Mustang parts that I have acquired which could be included with sale, if interested.
This is not your typical "project" classic Mustang which are often riddled with cancerous rust either seen or hidden in all the typical places. This fastback is ready to be taken to the next level and to be finished in the trim and colors of your choosing. It really is a blank slate with much of the costly and labor intensive metal and body work done.
I truly appreciate you reading through the listing details I’ve provided. Feel free to message me for more information or to arrange a showing. If the weather allows, I will try to get some more updated photos of the car outside of its current storage location in the future. You will not be disappointed in the overall condition as I’ve described above.
Thanks!
