Smith-Corona electronic electric typiewriter
SL 80
with cover.
Short version: Types, but the cartridge ink ribbon doesn't advance.
Cartridge not included. It's not good anyway since it has blank spots now from this.
-----------------------------
Powers on, all keys type, but the ribbon cartridge doesn't advance after each letter. So five or so key presses will show up inked on the paper, but then there's no ink since the keys are hitting the ribbon in the same spot due to the cartridge not advancing.
When typing without the cartridge in, I can see the turning knob that inserts into the cartridge doesn't turn.
I've read there's a little "E" clip that can often cause this problem. I don't know.
The typewriter makes a light hum sound, even when plugged in but turned off. I've never had this model before so I don't know if it's supposed to do that. It's a light hum. Much quieter than the usual hum on the older Smith-Coronas.
$20 firm.
Can deliver to Neenah or so depending on the day.
Can plug it in in my garage for you to check it out.
