This is a fully load tested model MEP-802A military diesel generator that is rated for 5,000 watts, but can surge to and sustain higher loads; I loaded this generator to over 7Kw during testing. This is a very capable generator for those who require continuous run power generation while working at sites with no power, running your cottage, or using as a back-up power source for maintaining the essentials at your home or business during a power outage. This generator is powered by a Lister-Petter 2-cylinder diesel motor, has an Onan generator head, has 23 hours, is switchable between 1 and 3 phase, and has a built-in cold weather starting aid. The hard work required to make this generator as reliable as possible is done. I replaced the motor oil with fully synthetic diesel rated 5W40 motor oil and replaced the motor oil filter. I replaced both the primary and secondary fuel filters. I replaced ALL of the fuel return lines with the correct N203535-5 fuel line. I replaced the fuel tank well nut. I had the radiator checked and pressure tested at a professional radiator repair shop. And I correctly load tested this generator utilizing professional 1 phase and 3 phase load banks. You’ll need to supply a pair of Group 51R 12 volt automotive batteries; I’ve simply learned that customers have their own battery preferences. You can find these military grade generators elsewhere cheaper, but you won’t find a MEP-802A as thoroughly maintained, tested, and prepared for service as this one.
