This sign was made sometime between 1912 and 1920 for a company that manufactured birthstone rings.
To operate, the mechanism is wound from the rear of the sign like a clock. It will run about 6 hours on one winding.. Once wound, the pendulum in the rear is given a gentle swing, which causes the cast iron stork's head to bob up and down. In addition, the dial goes around the dial to point out the different birthstones. Please note that the birthstones are plastic, not genuine. The case measures 20"Wx 17 1/2" tall x 4" deep.
