This rare heritage breed is exceptionally beautiful and was developed in England in 1897 by William Cook to commemorate Queen Victorias Diamond Jubilee
They are gentle and friendly with a calm demeanor. Their thick, downy feathers make them cold hardy
Their striking plumage has a deep mahogany base and black spangles with white tips on the end of each feather. Their true plumage can take up to 18 months to fully develop
They are considered a dual purpose breed with roosters weighing up to 10# and hens reaching 8#
Hens can produce 150-200 cream or brown medium to large eggs a year
The breed was almost completely annihilated during World War ll as Hitler demanded all British birds be culled. Once the war was over the breed was recreated
Chicks are sold straight run
