This baler was bought new from Chili Imp in Chili, Wis Spring of 2021. It has been used exclusively for my custom round baling business, has a total of approx 5312 bales run through it. It has NEVER baled corn stalks or soy bean chaff, strictly hay. The baler bales a very nice tight, square shouldered bale however it has a wrapping issue we have not been able to track down.
Once again, the baler bales fine but with no definitive pattern the baler at times will double wrap for 5, 9 , 17 bales using the net wrap function then go back to wrapping the way it should on its own. What I mean by "double wrap" is if the baler (in net wrap mode) is set to put three wraps on a bale it will put six. If it is set to put two wraps it will put four. It may do this for several or many bales then work fine for any number of bales once again (no pattern).
I have had the baler back in the shop at Chili Imp twice to correct the problem but they cannot track it down. I have had two different Vermeer technicians from Pella, Iowa drive up here three separate times to work on the baler but they to have not been able to correct the issue. I have now decided to sell the baler and move on.
Features the baler has:
- net wrap and twine option
- new actuators (BOTH net wrap and twine)
- extra net wrap hopper
- bale shape sensors
- new controller (baler brain). (Old controller has approx 3775 bales on it. New controller has 1537)
- new roller scraper (installed Fall 2025)
- new roller bearings (installed 2024)
- new main wire harness ( running from tractor to baler)
- new net wrap wire harness
- owners manual. Parts and service manuals
- does NOT have baler moisture sensors or hyd lift (manual crank)
- Belts are 85%-90% remaining
Since it has was purchased new it has been washed and waxed at the conclusion of each baling season and stored INSIDE for the Winter. Cosmetically it is a 9.5 on a 1-10 scale. NO bends, NO breaks, nothing rewelded, NO rust. Chains always oiled and baler always kept greased. The Atlas Pro controller (mounts in the cab or on the tractor fender) is very easy to use, easy to navigate through, very user friendly. I have several references I can give you to validate the quality of bale this baler will make in spite of the wrapping issue.
If you were to buy the baler depending on where your located I'd be happy to come show you the ins and outs of the baler the first time you bale with it. Price is based on what dealership told me it is worth to sell private party. Please inquire with any questions you may have.
