Hi! Do you wish to learn to play the fiddle or improve your chops, or simply dive into new fiddle tunes?
I’m a musician and music teacher from Norway, Europe, offering lessons on fiddle (violin) and Hardanger Fiddle (the Norwegian fiddle). I also play and teach guitar and mandolin, besides the fiddle.
I have 30 years of experience in performing and teaching, and a master’s degree in Nordic Folk Music from the Royal Academy Music in Stockholm, Sweden.
I teach beginner through advanced, mainly fiddle music styles such as Scandinavian fiddle music (from Norway, Sweden, Finland, and Denmark), Irish and Celtic fiddle music, and American Old Time fiddle music. I can also work on music in broader rhythmical styles, such as country and popular music. I also love teaching arranging, harmonizing, accompaniment, and ensemble.
I mainly teach by ear while supplementing the student with sheet music and audio. My approach is to meet the student where they are at and where they can progress, while feeling comfortable with the instrument and inspired by the music.
I can do lessons in person in my own studio in Appleton, at your place in the Fox Valleys, or online.
My rates are $45 for 45 minutes and $60 for an hour. Additional $5 for lessons away from my own studio.
