2006 Ford Five Hundred SEL — Project, Mechanic's Special, or Part-Out Donor
Price: $1,000 OBO
Odometer: Aprox. 200k, shouldn't be too much over 200k, I would have to jump start the vehicle to find out exact numbers since it's been sitting for a while.
Paint color: Grey/ Green (Specifically Titanium Green Metallic)
Drive: Fwd
Fuel: Gas
Transmission: Automatic
Title status: Clean
Cylinders: 6 cylinders
Status: AS-IS. Starts and drives, but will need to be towed/trailered due to front-end damage.
This car was a highly reliable daily driver until it unfortunately hit a deer. It has a smashed front end, a cracked lower windshield, and needs a rear passenger-side tire and a new headlight assembly. It is currently leaking fluid from the front impact area.
Because the powertrain is completely intact, this makes the absolute perfect donor car if you need a replacement transmission or a solid 3.0L V6 engine for a Ford Five Hundred, Ford Freestyle, or Mercury Montego.
THE MECHANICAL VALUE UNDER THE HOOD:
Perfect Powertrain: The 3.0L V6 engine, throttle body, and transmission ran and shifted flawlessly right up until the crash.
Like-New Components: Features a like-new battery and a relatively fresh alternator (worth over $350+ retail alone).
THE INTERIOR (SEL Premium Trim):
Upgraded leather seats, clean floors, clean ceiling, and a working factory power moonroof assembly.
Note: I do not have interior photos posted at the moment because we are currently using the car for clean storage while transitioning living situations. I have included a stock photo of the dash layout at the end of the image gallery for reference.
Flaws: There is a small crack on the brown wood-grain dash trim near the steering wheel, and a small wear hole under the front driver-side floor mat.
Dead scrap steel weight on this 3,815 lb car is already worth nearly $500 alone based on local scrap market prices. The like-new battery and fresh alternator cost over $350 retail.
If you honestly think a perfectly running Ford 3.0L V6 engine, a flawless transmission, a working power moonroof, and a clean leather interior aren't worth the remaining $150... you don't know cars—move along.
$500 scrap is just the RAW METAL WEIGHT. That price CANNOT buy you these functional parts individually. A running engine, flawless transmission, and intact interior alone total over $2,700 in used market replacement costs. If you just need ONE of these major parts for your own vehicle, buying this whole car for $1,000 saves you thousands. The rest is your pure profit or spare parts storage.
